Blog:Labour officials look to bridge safety inspector gap

AMMAN – Officials hope to meet the Mbt shoes Kingdom’s needs of occupational safety and health inspectors under an agreement signed between the Labour Ministry and Tatweer for Public Safety Forces (TPSF) on Tuesday.
The one-year renewable deal, signed by HRH Prince Asem Ben Nayef, TPSF chairman, and Labour Minister Ibrahim Omoush yesterday, calls for the company to provide the labour market with qualified occupational safety and health inspectors.
Although workplaces are required to have safety officers, employers tend not to abide by the law, according to TPSF projects director Hashem Majali, who added ghd hair straighteners that with proper enforcement employers will recruit scores of inspectors.
“According to the law, each employer with 50 or more workers must have a safety officer. According to a previous study we have carried out, the majority do not have Ghdsuch positions,” he said, noting that the agreement is expected to create between 1,500-2,000 jobs.
Under the deal, the company will approach private sector companies in order to assess their needs in the field of work safety, as both sides will cooperate in order to MBT Shoe secure jobs for the trainees.
“There are laws requiring work places to have safety officers. The ministry, through its inspectors, will ensure that all employers abide by the regulations,” the minister added.
He highlighted that the company, in cooperation with the Mbt Vocation Training Corporation (VTC), is currently considering holding a regional conference in Jordan on occupational safety and health.
The VTC, which holds training courses on 200 professions through its 46 centres and institutes, will organise courses in the fields of occupational safety and health MBT Shoes under the agreement, Omoush noted.
